Inbody 580 Scan

Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis

Alchemy Wellness has now added the InBody 580 bioelectrical impedance analysis scan to our practice. This is one more tool we offer to assist our patients in achieving their goals; whether that is reaching a healthy weight, adding lean muscle, or simply trying to live your best and healthiest life. We are always here to support our patients along their journey.

InBody body composition analysis provides accurate results at a fraction of the cost of other modalities such as DEXA scan. When compared with DEXA results there is 98% correlation which means the InBody results are extremely accurate. This is an excellent tool for tracking body fat mass, visceral fat, skeletal muscle mass, and body water.

For people who are actively working on weight loss or increasing muscle mass testing every few months is a helpful tool in tracking fitness and health measurements.

FAQ`s

Is there anyone who can’t use the InBody scale
  • Yes, it’s contraindicated for people with pacemakers or for lower extremity amputation.
How often should I test
  • We recommend testing every 2-3 months if you’re tracking muscle mass, for body fat you can test monthly.
How long does the scan take
  • It’s very quick, you’re standing on the scale for about 1 minute.
Can I get a scan with a metal implant
  • Yes, if you’ve had a joint replacement, stent, or other metal object you can still get a scan. It may skew your fat free mass results but with repeated testing you will see consistent results so you can still track changes.

  • Yes, it may skew your fat maas/percent body fat results but with repeated testing you will get consistent results so you can still track changes.
