To find out the levels of cortisol in your blood for the evaluation of adrenal and pituitary gland malfunction or as a part of extra adrenal secretion. This test is for you if

Preparing for your test

No special preparation or fasting is needed. The patients must schedule an appointment from the lab prior to sample collection. Cortisol concentrations normally show diurnal variation. Therefore, it is important to know the time of sampling for interpretation of results. Please consult your Health care provider for the timing of sample collection (morning or evening).

After the test

After your specimen is taken, it takes a few business days to process and report it, although processing time varies for individual tests. You will receive your results with a relevant reporting. In case of results that are outside the expected ranges, please consult you PCP or Health care coordinator.
