To find out the amount of B12 and folate in your body and rule out these deficiencies as a cause of anemia. This test is for you if

  • you have sign and symptoms of anemia
  • you have unexplained tiredness, fatigue and loss of concentration
  • you don’t consume red meat, fruits and vegetables
  • you have paresthesia or peripheral numbness

Preparing for your test

No special preparation is needed although patients consuming Biotin supplements are advised to stop biotin 72 hours prior to sampling.

After the test

After your specimen is taken, it takes a few business days to process and report it, although processing time varies for individual tests. You will receive your results with a relevant reporting. In case of results that are outside the expected ranges, please consult you PCP or Health care coordinator.
